ComicWave for teachers

Last updated 17 September 2026

Who holds the account

ComicWave accounts are for people who can accept the terms and meet the minimum age in their location, and classroom use must be run from an authorised adult account. Student accounts and classroom management aren’t available, so the teacher creates and reviews every comic before students see it.

Set the audience

In Story to Comic, open “More settings” on the Look and length stage and choose an “Audience”: Children, Teen (13–17), All ages or Adult. Teen is the default. There is no separate reading-level or sentence-length control, so write the source text at the level you want your class to read. Fast Comic always plans for all ages. The comic’s text can be written in English, German, French, Japanese, Spanish or Korean.

Content and safety

Generation is filtered for sexual content involving minors, real-person likenesses and graphic gore, and the acceptable use policy applies to everything you submit. Filters don’t replace your judgement, so review every panel before it reaches a classroom. Use fictional names, leave out students’ personal information and don’t upload photos of students: photo references may be shared with generation providers.

Credits for a lesson

The Free plan includes 60 starting credits once and a 60-credit daily generation limit. Four Standard panels cost 60 credits; Fast planning is free. Paid story planning starts at 4 credits. A maximum hold is quoted by story size before you confirm; the final charge follows completed work and unused credits return. Drawing is priced separately at 15 credits per Standard panel. Free story planning is limited to one page, four panels and 12,000 source characters, within the daily planning allowance. Daily limits reset at 00:00 UTC. Credit packs increase the balance but do not raise daily limits.

Page sizes and printing

There are no A4 or Letter page presets yet. Story to Comic pages are 1500 × 2250 px at 300 dpi, about 5 × 7.5 inches, and print PDF keeps that size. For an A4 handout, start in Blank Studio with “Custom size” in millimetres, for example 210 × 297, and lay out the page yourself. Print PDF exports at 300 dpi in sRGB with optional bleed and crop marks and needs Starter or higher; Free accounts can print PNG or JPEG pages, which carry a watermark.

Sharing comics with students

ComicWave doesn’t post or share anything for you: download the pages and share them through your school’s usual tools. Check facts, names and language in every panel first, because generated images and text can be wrong. Under the current terms, which are still a pre-launch draft pending counsel review, ComicWave doesn’t claim ownership of generated output.
