Export sizes for webtoon, print and social

Before you export

Exports live on a project’s Export stage. They cost no credits, and every page is checked first so nothing is missing or cut off: text that overflows its box, or artwork that is missing or not accepted, blocks the export until you fix it. “Preview selected page · free” shows one page as it will download. The Free plan exports PNG and JPEG with a “COMICWAVE FREE” watermark; Starter, Creator and Studio add every other format, without a watermark. One export can include up to 100 pages.

Webtoon widths and chunk heights

The Webtoon format scales every page to one strip width, stacks the pages from top to bottom on white and cuts the result into chunks. The defaults are 800 px wide, 1,280 px chunks and 48 px of spacing between pages. You can set “Strip width” to 690, 720, 800 or 940 px, “Chunk height” to 1,280, 1,600 or 2,000 px and “Page spacing” to 24, 48, 72 or 120 px, and download the long image, the safe chunks or both.

The platform presets are WEBTOON Canvas (800 px wide, 1,280 px chunks), Tapas (940 px, 1,600 px), Lezhin (720 px, 1,280 px) and Naver Series (690 px, 1,600 px). Changing the width or chunk height by hand switches the preset back to Custom. Platforms update their requirements, so check their current upload rules before you publish.

How cuts avoid your lettering

Chunk height is a maximum. ComicWave only moves a cut upwards, into a gap between panels and lettering, so no chunk is taller than your setting and the last chunk holds whatever remains. Cuts avoid panels, speech bubbles, captions and sound effects; they don’t look for faces. If no safe gap exists, the export stops unless you tick “Allow an unavoidable protected cut and record my acknowledgement”. Pages made as a flat AI-rendered image have their lettering inside the artwork, so cuts can’t steer around it.

Moving a cut

The export screen has no handle for dragging an individual cut. To move cuts, change the chunk height, strip width, page spacing or preset, or move the bubble or panel in Studio; pages set to Scroll orientation can show chunk markers from the View menu as a rough guide. For exact control, export the full long image and split it with the free Webtoon cutter, where every cut has its own position slider and the image never leaves your browser.

Print PDF places each page on its own sheet at 300 dpi in sRGB, embedded as an image. You can include the document’s bleed, add crop marks when bleed is on, and choose right-to-left page binding. CMYK conversion isn’t available yet.

PNG, JPEG and WebP

Image exports use a “Raster resolution” of 150, 300 or 600 dpi. PNG is lossless sRGB; JPEG and WebP add “Encoding quality” from 40 to 100, set to 92 by default. You can also include the document’s bleed. Several pages download as a ZIP of numbered files.

The social carousel exports each page as a 1080 × 1350 px slide, delivered as numbered JPEG files in a ZIP, with a safe margin of 32, 64 or 96 px, optional slide numbers and up to 80 characters of branding text. The 4-panel strip is horizontal or vertical, 1,200, 1,600 or 2,400 px wide, with a gutter of 0, 16, 24 or 48 px, and needs either one page with four panels or exactly four pages.
